  • Atling Steady Rests. Get closer tolerances, greater turning accuracy and repeatability

Steady rests are an essential accessory for turning slim, shaft type workpieces. Under cutting loads these parts can become unstable with a liability to bend or deflect. Self-centering Atling Steady Rests solve the problem.

The patented LMC/ Atling design of the roller levers delivers superior performance of uniform clamping force across the clamping range. In short, you’ll see just a 7% grip-force variance vs. 37% in competitive models. Click here to find out more.

Baldor Electric relies on Atling Steady Rests.

See how Baldor put Atling Steady Rests and Neidlein Face Drivers to work to improve part quality by 20% and reduce cycle times by 30%!

1916 to 2006. 90 years of LMC Workholding!

From its start in 1916 as Logansport Machine Company, LMC Workholding remains a privately held U.S. manufacturer of high quality workholding solutions. In the late 1980’s the company began to form strong international product partnerships.

Company President Gordon “Bud” Duerr- “It really is the best of both worlds. We are very proud to maintain a strong manufacturing presence here in the United States, especially right here where we started in Logansport. And we are equally proud of our strong international partnerships with great companies like Atling (steady rests) and Neidlein (face drivers and centers). The combination brings great workholding solutions to our customers. I’m more proud of that, really, than turning 90.”

Mr. Duerr is quick to add that he wasn’t part of the company 90 years ago!

    LMC commits to IMTS 2006

Be sure to visit booth 4169 at IMTS 2006 later this year in Chicago. Two special new products will be introduced to the metalworking public for the first time. These will be unique, brand new (and in one case patented) workholding products.

We cannot now reveal details (engineering specifics are just being finalized) but you’ll see a dramatic new face driver and a wheel chuck unlike any other. We’ll also unveil a new website and, of course, you can learn about the whole line of LMC Workholding solutions. Come see us in Chicago!
