Turning shafts became a problem for Baldor Electric
Company (Ozark, Arkansas) as they watched their production mix
flip-flop from about 80% standard shafts and 20% specialty
shafts to today’s 80% “specials” / 20% standard mix on some
turning machines. This high demand for specialty shafts caused
several problems for Baldor’s production team: including
shorter production runs, more changeovers, lost production
time, runout quality issues and holding other tolerances on
the more critical shafts.
Find out how Neidlein face drivers and
Atling steady rests from LMC Workholding came to the rescue.
It's a story of improving part quality by 20% and resolving
cycle times by 30%!
